It is our honour to host Behrouz Boochani in Bowral for one of only a few appearances in Australia.
Behrouz Boochani wrote his prize-winning book No Friend But The Mountains while he was in detention on Manus Island. It had a profound impact on readers in this country and beyond.
Now, the Kurdish-Iranian writer, journalist, scholar, cultural advocate and filmmaker has published hiscollected writings: Freedom, Only Freedom: The Prison Writings of Behrouz Boochani. The book also includes essays from experts on migration, refugee rights, politics and literature.
It is a moving, creative and challenging account by a tenacious campaigner and activist: a deeply humane voice which speaks for the plight of thousands of detained migrants across the world.
Behrouz will be joined by his translators Moones Mansoubi and Omid Tofighian.
